Benvenuto al Lazio Grande Miroslav

The question is, does he still have that fire inside of him to perform at the very top level, or will he be just another Julio Cruz coming here striving for a retirement fund. No doubt he knows where the goal is, and having Hernanes and Zárate around him could help set up chances the old bugger could put away. I certainly hope this is not the end of the road at this club for Floccari, though. I'm quite concerned with such reports, since Sergio still has a role to play for us.

Anyway, I hope Miroslav will be a success, albeit just four league goals in two seasons points to a typical Tare/Lotito swoop

He refuses EUR 4 million per season offered by bayern munich. So it's clear that He still has the ambition to play in the 2012 world Cup. Hopefully He can pay the trust which are given to Him;hope He can score as much as He can.

I have my doubts, his record for Bayern in recent years has not been good, I fear another Cruz situation, and I also fear that this means we will lose Floccari, which I will be really annoyed with.

I hope he proves me wrong.

Guys when we talking about Klose his name only appears next to Ronaldo and Muller, one of the best strikers world ever known and surly to Germans he is a legend wither he scores or not! These kind of strikers don't have expiry date on them, he can make the change any min in the game, am very happy to have someone like him in our team we needed someone with his experience and tactical knowledge.
Very good signing from Lotito and specially for free and 2m per season, I say well done Lotito and good job

Doesnt matter how much of a "legend" he is, youre only as good as your last game, and he has done nothing of note at club level for a long time. Dont get me wrong, he had a great World Cup, and not just 1 either, but for Bayern he has been less than impressive.

I want him to prove me wrong, I really do, theres nothing id like more than to see him bag 15+ for us next season, but I have my doubts.

I am cautiously hopefull as well, but comparing Klose to Cruz is laughable guys. Klose is Germany's second all time goal scorer, Cruz? NOT. Klose is a superstar, Cruz was only ever a good player, but never a great player. Nevertheless, I too am skeptical.

anyway, Benvenuto Panzer!

First of all, I've always been a fan of Klose's  But we still need to look at where he's coming from.

Of course a much greater player than Cruz historically, but fact is that Cruz looked a lot more handy the couple of seasons before coming to us than what Klose has looked whilst at club level. He hasn't had much playing time to be fair, with Gómez and Müller being ahead in the pecking order. But I would not expect fireworks from a 33 year old player who has looked a bit on the slide recently. Back in the Golden Days we had poached him while at his top instead. That we got Klose in 2011 just speaks of why we'll never get back into title contention under this president.

Welcome to Lazio!

According to wikipedia:

For the Euro 2012 qualifiers, Klose has scored at least one goal in every single game.

This leaves Klose with 61 goals for Germany, trailing Gerd Müller's record by seven.

^^ this is a good point, and gives me some optimism. When he plays regularly, and in his role (i.e. centre forward) he's devastating. If I remember correct, at Bayern, of late, he was pushed to the outside. As long as Reja doesn't expect him to come all the way back.

I think he's an ok option. However what happens with Kozak now? Kozak was great for us last season and kind of had a similar season as Klose playing time wise (Coming in from the bench). However Kozak managed 6 goals, Klose 1. Personally I would pick Kozak over Klose.

Agreed. All this stuff about him being a superstar, what is this, the WWE? Come on, His international career is great but it's easier to wrack up goals at International level against the likes of Azerbaijan and the Faroe Islands than it is against Dortmund, Hamburg, etc. His club has been poor, and we after all are a club.

However, I don't want to keep moaning about him because he does have ability and he is and has been a much better striker than Cruz. He needs to show it in the Lazio colours and hopefully he will be the 15+ man we've been looking for, so welcome to Klose.

Exactly my thinking. Kozak really really impressed me last season and I wanted Kozak to be the player Klose will be for us this year. I wanted a forward that did not have the same characteristics as Kozak since I believe a lot in him and that is exactly what we got. Looks like Kozak will be bench another year. Moreover, I cannot pick a side how Klose will do for us. It really is a mystery to me how he will adapt. I am a believer in the notion that every player plays differently in different environments. Hopefully Klose will gel with Hernanes Zarate and Mauri supporting him and find a good form in his first season into a more tactical Serie A.

My ideas are so ambivalent I should not even post in this thread.

Nonetheless, the most important thing, I believe, was uttered by Roslagen at the very end of his previous post.

Wonderful article from Der Spiegel. The only thing it leaves out is that Lazio fans use infants for bayonet practice and drink the blood of of their enemies. Wonderful things journalistic integrity.
