Is this guy made out of glass or what ??? What a useless player to have .. such high hopes for this guy and he's injured again. Petit Zidane my ass!

---------------------------------------------------------------
Meghni Injured Once Again
Lazio's French attacking midfielder Mourad Meghni has suffered a relapse of a muscular injury which has affected him since last year.

Meghni has not been fortunate as far as injuries go in recent times. Nevertheless, the right-footed player is blessed with excellent technique and undoubtedly has the potential to become a great player for the French national side in future.

In France, as a young footballer, his skill and talent earned him the nickname 'petit Zidane'. Unfortunately, reports today have confirmed that the player is once again injured, having returned to the pitch only a few weeks ago.

The injury occurred in training when the 24-year-old received a knee to the left thigh. The time of recovery is not yet known, but it seems likely that the Frenchman will need quite some time to recover. Last year Meghni suffered a similar injury and was out of action for two months.

Meghni joined Lazio on a co-ownership deal at the beginning of the 2007/2008 season. His early performances for the Biancocelesti were not particularly impressive and, due to injury and bad form, the Frenchman only started seven matches last season.

This guy should be nicknamed Mr. Glass. Is it not possible for this guy to play an entire season ? I guess this means we'll be seeing the likes of Mauri more often which sucks. I hope he gets well soon because he is an ideal player in our lineup. If this guy wastes another season on injury he needs to be sold, no point in wasting money on benched players... like Del Nero who looked promising in the CL qualifier then he went M.I.A for most of the season.

We really need to be looking at our primavera squad and bring some players through, and stop wasting money.

I agree. The only way to see what a player is made out of is to give him a chance in an actual league game. We give so many players more chances hoping to see something new out of them but they always give the same performance. People have said Tuia was going to be the next Nesta .. then why not field him instead of Siviglia ? Mendicino wasn't bad from what I've seen from him in the friendlies .. why not bring him in as an alternative striker. The only position we should spend money on is a solid midfielder. We need to learn to use our resources save money to secure contracts then at the end of the season when we make uefa/CL which i'm confident this team will get .. we can think about picking up some other rising stars.

The problem is what do we do with him? Who's going to take him off of our hands? What a shame, 'cause he really does have some talent.

Guys, Meghni is playing VERY well. That's two good games, only two, but if he can continue to play and grow without  setbacks (injury or otherwise) he could be useful. We would have to rethink our options because if he plays well for an extended period we either have to give him more time, or capitalize and trade him. Either way, a Meghni playing the way he has lately will be a great thing.

I don't think there was ever a question of Meghni's skill and potential.  His problems lie in his consistent performance and ability to stay fit.  I think we really need to stick with this guy and give him as much playing time as possible to see if he can stay consistent.  This is one guy that Rossi continues to stick with because I think he knows what he is capable of doing.  Hopefully he stays healthy and continues to perform this year as we really need someone consistent at his position.  daje mourad!!

He ran the show against Palermo and provided a clever assist for Rocchi with the outside of his boot. I was impressed again yesturday. Hes always been a skillful player but hes started to transfer those skills to being very useful within the game. He needs to continue playing like that and I think he can be a great player. Lets not forget, hes only 23.  06 07 00

Mourad Meghni has decided to play for the Algerian national team. Probably realized he'd never make the french national team because he's nothing like zidane who he was compared to. I hope he signs for celtic or whoever to free up another space for someone who can play regularly and isn't made out of glass.

SO that is the connection with Zidane. They are both from Algeria.

Player with talent technically but too injury prone and seems to be rather ineffective all too often. Doesnt seem to be able to maintain any consistency, perhaps out of his depth.

Don't like him, too. He is not so special and apparently is prone to injuries. And 23 years aren't so few, it's not like he is 20 or something

He is a decent player who can't help Lazio become a more challenging team for the Seria A. I think he is for teams like Chievo or Torino...
