West Ham have announced the purchase of Behrami for 6.5m Euros. Considering we could have lost him for peanuts if he used article 17, that's not bad. It's good to see that teams are loathe to resort to the dubious clause. Then again, the fact that the lingering threat of invoking article 17 overshadowed negotiations may have driven the price down (I think Behrami is worth a touch more).

While I wish Valon well, and will always remember that late gasp goal in the derby fondly, I have to say I am a little dissappointed. It's impossible to know who's to blame here, but I'm inclined to feel Valon is getting some bad advice from his agent. I mean, where are all the big teams lining up to sign him?? For 6.5 million why didn't Bayern or Siviglia or ManU pick him up??? Something doesn't make sense. No offence to WestHam but leaving Lazio when things seem to be looking up for the Hammers seems nonsensical. boh?

This was definitely the highlight of his Lazio career...

In a couple years we will hear Behrami saying he would love to come back - just like all the others, mark me.

I'll really miss Behrami. Whether for Lazio or Switzerland, he always played well and showed great determination, especially as shown by the winning goal in the Rome derby. If he had to leave, I'm glad he went to West Ham United, continuing the Laziale presence there from the days of Di Canio. The Hammers are a good club in the Premiership, who have been desperately in need of a creative midfield player for at least the past three seasons. (Since Di Canio left, even?) He will be paid well (as even relegation sides in the Prem have payrolls competitive with most Serie A clubs) and the wife or girlfriend will probably like living in London.
It is not a question anymore of replacing Behrami (such an adaptable player, wing back, midfielder, etc.), the midfield system will have to be rejigged.
But its funny, isn't it? I would put money right now on Behrami returning the same way Dabo did, fed up with the tactical density of English football and probably missing the Curva Nord! (Only after we likely needed him...)

Well I come from Kosova  and Behrami born in Kosova too and I was very happy for days he spend in Lazio and what he did for Lazio, I will never forget that goal he scored agains Roma in last minute ( I broke my TV  ) but he decided to leave us so we can't stop him, at least it's not up to us so I wish all the best for him and I hope someday he will play for Rep. of Kosova.

Forza Behrami

Apparently he spoke to dicanio before he joined. Sad to see him wearing that jersey... what a mistake.

One you commit to playing for a country you can never switch. Behrami can ONLY play as a swiss international.

Well maybe there could be an exception in this case because Kosova become a state just 3-4 months ago and now we are just starting to make the international team in all sports. Lorik Cana who plays for Albanian national team and to many others players who played for other national teams till now maybe they want to play for they own country who is a a real state now (rep. of Kosova), and in this case maybe Fifa can make an exception, at least we hope so:).
