I think this year will be a change for this team. I can feel it. If we can secure another centre mid and hopefully a good replacement for Ledesma which I hope happens then we will be on a new slate and possibly competing for a CL spot once again.

I think the MLS would be a good experience for Inzaghi and at least he'd be guaranteed first team football, but I can't see him leaving Italy.
I'm nearly sure he's said before that he doesn't want to play in Serie B. I still think he could be a regular first team player for some of the lesser teams in Serie A, such as Chievo, Siena, Cagliari, Catania, etc.

I think moving to the MLS would be the best thing for him provided the money he gets would be equal to what he'd be making in serie A or B. If he stays in Italy he'll be nothing more than a mediocre player overshadowed by a larger number of better players. If he went to the MLS he would be a superstar and would recieve a lot of media attention.

I'm really surprised a thread on Simone Inzaghi has become such a hot topic .. with all respect to him.

It's just the fact all Lazio fans want him to refind the form which made him a hero at this club. Most Laziale know what a good player he was and respect him for the goals he scored for us. If it isn't possible that he can help the current Lazio team, I'd be hoping Inzaghi can join a team were he can show his ability by playing week in week out and prove his critics wrong! 00

I think at the age of 32 there isn't many players at this age that do a complete 180 and become stars again. It's not like he's coming off a bad injury and he needs to find his form again, he simply doesn't have the skill he once had. I think the fact that he went to Atalanta on loan last january and couldn't get a starting position or score at least 1 goal .. we all know where his career is headed. I do wish him the best but clearly he's not cut for serie a.
Makinwa on the other hand is another player who can't seem score either, but some people will use his age as an excuse and think he will come out of the woodworks one day which I highly doubt. I think we'll see more from Zarate (21) than Makinwa(25) ever. Personally I would have thrown makinwa on the market too and searched for a better 4th striker and faced the reality that he was an overpriced and useless transfer.

For all Inzaghi fans:
Rossi: "Another player we will not get anything out of him is Inzaghi, Inzaghi has already retired, President".* Rossi: "Inzaghi can do cabaret, football is another thing".*
Simone Inzaghi 1999-2008 121 app/(21)goals
just for comparison app/gls Pandev 2004-2008 128/41 Salas 1998 2001 79/33 Crespo 2000-2002 54/39 Corradi 2002 2004 69/23 Rocchi 2004 2008 144/59
I really don't know who's hero is Simone Inzaghi, he isn't my or Lazio hero. He is probably hero of Olimpico's cleaners coz he is the best sweeper in hole Rome
*from the post ''very interesting phone call''

In defense of Inzaghi fans,
1. first off when they said 121 appearances, I think that number counts the appearances he was even sitting on the bench, not the time on the field or actual games played because in his wikipedia profile it says he scored 0 goals in 19 appearances .. but really he didnt play 19 games.
2. In 2000, Inzaghi scored 9 goals in 11 games in the CL equalling van bastens record, and 11 goals in 22 appearances and 7 goals in 22 games which is pretty good. If you count his records before Lazio its impressive. Unfortunately since 2006 he hasn't done anything.
He was in the height of his career when Lazio was in the height of its history so he is definitely a Lazio icon but compared to the heroes we've had in the past he doesn't exactly stand out.

You are jokin, aren't you?? He hasn't really retired?? No, but last season he was on loan in Atalanta and at the beginning he didn't score a goal and at the end he wasn't a starter in the first 11.

You are jokin, aren't you?? He hasn't really retired?? Yeah he'll do well .. in the MLS. I think he can make a name for himself playing for a team like New York or Toronto. No, but last season he was on loan in Atalanta and at the beginning he didn't score a goal and at the end he wasn't a starter in the first 11. That doesn't mean he can't do well with another team. 00

Don't you think we should be playing Inzaghi in some of these pre-season friendlies to increase the possibility of selling him? It would enable other clubs to have a look at him and then hopefully sign him. Plus he couldn't be any worse than Makinwa, as Inzaghi is good at holding the ball up (whereas with Makinwa he looses it or gives possession away most of the time) Plus, has anyone got any more news on Inzaghi?? transfer news etc. Thanks! 00 09 00 09 00 09 00
