I was trying to figure out what makes this year different than last 2 years and came with this :

1- This is the most important factor for our success this year and that all the big teams are having a bad times and big coaches is no longer in Serie a
2-Reja he is our best factor , are real coach believe in who plays better not the names, very strong personality and thats important if you are dealing with Lottito and we all saw last year Lottito use to come out and make a tactical statement and override the shitty coach we had, this year Reja is not giving him any space for that and thats good plus transparency he has in his playing style made us really different this year, he is one of the best coaches today in serie a and most of our position right now is because of him
3-Hernanes, for long time we use to shout for a real talisman , for somebody who can deliver quality passes and dance with the ball and deliver the right ball from our third to opponent third , hernanes proved to be this guy not only that he is today one of the best attacking midfielder in serie a

I really cant waite guys to hear ur thoughts about this year and why is better than last year?

The defense and Reja. Last year on paper we were not that bad. We just had a terrible coach in Ballardini. After Reja took over, results improved remarkably and in the end we finished comfortably above the relegation zone.
Now Reja has been with us from the get go and he is a solid manager. The defense has been great as well and that's a huge factor as well. I think we are in the top 3 for least goals conceded.
As for your points, I don't agree with number 1. Napoli, Juve, Roma, Milan, all equal or better then last season. We are a pretty good team.

Reja + Dias and co. + Hernanes = Success

I said last year that this team wasn't quite as bad as it was playing. It shows how things can change with some smart moves - even limited. Ultimately, many of the changes began when we got Dias  and then Reja. This team was a different team from Parma onward. Add Hernanes in the summer, plus Kozak maturing and a new sense of  confidence and there you go.

I agree that its down to a much better defence, and better players at  keeping the ball in the middle of the park. We did without Ledesma and Matuzalem for pretty much most of last season and now we have Hernanes in there as well.

Our squad was weak at the beginning of last season but additions of Dias, Floccari and Biava gave it some strength, along with the return of Ledesma and Matuzalem and from that survival was made comfortably when all was said and done.

But, the big credit goes to Reja. 22 wins, 9 draws and 12 defeats since he has taken charge of us.

I agree with Laziogimp as well, this has been achieved while others have got stronger, Milan and Napoli certainly while Inter are still a superb side. Juve had the resources to do so but chose to buy squad players, Krasic and Quagliarella aside, rather than a few champions and thats why they are suffering.

Hernanes - is the player to thank for our successful season over any other player with 7 goals and 5 assists. He makes up for our strikers who are incapable of scoring.

Our defense improved .. last year dias wasn't that great and biava was garbage. This season they've improved immensly.

Reja - definately since he came the team started seeing results.

The bad luck that teams like rube, merda, fiorentina, sampdoria and palermo have had this season has also assisted us greatly.

Yes the defense is a something worth pointing at, I am kind of worried next season if playing 2 matches every week will be fine with the same number of defense we have coz actually we have only 2 center defender worth mentioning the rest is a crab

^ No, it most certainly will not. And regardless of CL or EU, Lotito cannot screw up the market again. We will need significant reinfircements to carry on a three front campaign, qualitatively AND quantitatively.

at 33, he's not young, but defenders tend to need a few years on them. I think he could be a good pick up, but no more than 2 year contract.
