I have never gotten so many dirty looks form people I don't know. walking the streets in a Lazio jersey the day of the Roma derby. as much as I wanted Lazio to win that day, and I did, when I saw the line up was 3-5-1-1 I knew a win was out of reach and a draw was to good to hope for. then I was surprised, they actually played well and lost any way surprisingly it wasn't totti that scored. then Lazio genoa: finally a goal and a long awaited win only a weekend that had bari down juve, palermo tank AC, and atalanta tie inter lets hope some spark may come from this and the sofia game this week

I thought we did enough to get a draw out of the Roma game and I was gutted when we came out as second best. But as the game went on and we did not capitalize on our chances I knew if they did get in front it was unlikely we would find a goal. That said I don't personally think we played badly. The Genoa result was much needed to be honest, they are a tough team and their place as tenth in the Serie A table is testament to that. Football is all about confidence and to start to put some kind of run together in order to pull us away from a relegation fight we need to build on the Genoa result

When i was walking around Rome in my Lazio shirt before the last derby in April, i got nothing but applause and chants of FORZA LAZIO hahaha The only Roma fan to get angry with me was the next day when i posed for a photo outside the roma store with another Lazio shirt gesturing 4-2 with my hands, he was in his car and started blasting the horn quite angrily good times

I meet one guy the day of and the day after the derby. Roma played so bad he couldnt even give me shit, just a half smile and some thing about lazio playing a good game but roma pulling it out. at least we could all agree that Lippi is a fool. It was just fun being some where that people know what the hell lazio is or for that matter understanding that calcio is the greatest sport in the world.

Well, I have been told that the most Romans actualy support Roma while Lazio is mostley supported by people living in the Lazio region.

That's spot on. It's a well known fact, actually.

It's a little more complicated than that in fact. It's probably a 3-5 split in Rome itself. There are social-economic and, yes, some political nuances to the makeup of the fan bases.

Eh? What have you got to do with this? In Rome, the vast majority of people support Roma. Lazio are more popular in the Lazio regions. These aren't stereotypes, they are FACTS. (Anyone who has been to Rome can agree to this as well) And I must agree with Imper, there's a lot more to do with it, but on a simplistic term, the above statement is true. Are you from Rome? If so, then you could feel upset about such stereotype talk. But you ain't being targetted. Your a foreign Laziale - as am I. We have nothing to do with this debate really!

Can you explane more on social, economic and political issues?

Can you explane more on social, economic and political issues? Obviously such things are not etched in stone but AS Roma supporters are traditionally the poor leftist working class people whereas SS Lazio supporters are somewhat the opposite. I remember a documentary film from early noughties that highlighted these differences and elder Merda fans stressed them in particular which in hindsight might well have been due to Irriducibili being at the height of their fascist power at the time. Still, in my view they are valid generalisations that do not fall within extreme stereotypes. Imper will shed more light on the subject, I am sure.

i would sum it up simpler than that. I really only got shit twice (i got looks from many) one was a cart salesman and the other sold prints out side the ruins; who said "all lazio fans have their noses pointed up..... lazio fans have short hands a deep pockets". back at monté mario(just out side the city) some one left a door open for me so I could watch the game
