All of these perished in the terrible accident when the small plane hit a TV tower adjacent of Yaroslavl as the just had taken off to face Dinamo Minsk in the opener of the all-ex-Soviet KHL Series. The plane type has had 8 of 182 versions involved in crashes.

Alexander Galimov (player)
Alexander Sizov (flight engineer)

are alive at this moment in time, but are seriously injured. Galimov has burns over 90 % of his body...

R.I.P. and my thoughts are with the perished's families, fans of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl and everyone else affected by this tragedy, which is next to when an American football college team was eliminated in 1970 (70 people) the worst airplane crash involving a professional sports team ever.

Lazio are with you, rest in peace

Some fine hockey people there (aside from the pure human tragedy).

Pavel Demitra!!! My goodness what a terrific player.  RIP.
