Hopefully this thread will keep running throughout the summers transfer activities- a chance to dream about a best (or worse) possible lazio XI based on the rumours and speculation that are always circling.

here's my faviourite at the moment:

                                 Carizzo
             Di Silvestri  Barzagli  Radu  Kolarov

            Marchionni  Marchisio  Abelairas  Giovinco

                                   Aimar
                           Fornaroli  Cavani

Very ambitious- but so young and talented! definitely a top four team. i know im forgetting about players such as behrami, rocchi, ledesma, pandev etc who would obviously be involved but it's more fun to be inventive with the rumours we hear!

Is that 100% ? I'm surprised he didn't go to Bayern where he could've joined Toni.

Yup you were right. I think he joined Zaccardo. Too bad he would've been perfect for our defense.

Barzagli Moves To Wolfsburg
Italian international and Palermo defender Andrea Barzagli has made a surprise move to Wolfsburg after failing to reach an agreement with Fiorentina.

Following the news that Roberto Mancini will probably leave Inter and that Amauri´s move to Juventus may not be a done deal after all, another big transfer story is coming from Italy.

It seems that Palermo defender Andrea Barzagli, who has once again been called up to the Azzurri's national team after winning the World Cup two years ago, will not be moving to Fiorentina as expected.

Surprisingly enough, he will be the next major Italian player to move to the Bundesliga after Luca Toni, as he has signed a contract with Wolfsburg, according to his agent Claudio Orlandini.

"It's true, Andrea has signed for Wolfsburg," he said. "There was a 200 thousand euro difference between what we asked for and what Fiorentina were willing to give. They did not want to take our requests into consideration and so we accepted another offer. That's all there is to say."

I like your formation. Mine is waaaaaaay far fetched.

What does this team need really ? I think ...

1. First and Foremost: A keeper
2. Solid defender - sorry but Cribari is rusty
3. 2 of Creative/Attacking midfielder - Aimar, Menez, Abelairas are great choices (fill in for behrami and mudy most likely)
4. Youthful/Promising Striker - Fornaroli, Aquafresca, Cavani

I think realistically knowing lotito you cant expect more than this. 5 players would be an improvement on this team enough to get us a uefa spot and compete with teams like udinese, sampdoria and napoli who are teams pretty much on our level.

I wish lotito would be more aggressive selling because we can lose some players who really aren't doing much and replace them with fewer better players.

I would be happy with this starting 11...but I'd still want a stronger bench than last year, and a better CB than Cribari.

I think we need to replace Cribari.  He's had a horrible season last year and was rated one of the worst players so I think we need a new centre back and that Marco Motta kid sounds good considering he's an azzurini and currently plays for udinese but i'm sure like all good names linked to lazio this was just another rumour.

I think we'd have a better bench if we replaced most of our starting team.

well now we can discus about this topic.

                                Carizzo                                            Bench:Mutarelli Kozak Mehni Cribarri

    Lichtsteiner/ De Silvestri - Radu - Rozehnal - kolarov

       Fernandez - Matuzalem - Mauri/Dabo - Foggia

                        Pandev - Zarate

Or if we play 4-3-3 just put Rocci instead of mauri/dabo

We will kick some ass this season FORZA LAZIO  00      06

I think Siviglia needs to play from the bench, he cannot, and should not start. It all depends on what happens with Ledesma and stendardo to see who else we get. With two men in the attack, I'm afraid Rocchi will have to be the odd man out - unless Zarate is a bust.

My Dream team:

             Carizzo

DeSilvestri  -Moti- Rozehnal- Radu

Foggia -Dabo- Matuzalem- Fernandez

Zarate  -     Pandev   -      Rocchi

i'd like to see that 11 fielded with meghni, lichsteiner, kolarov as subs.

i'm debating if I even got the positions right .. but whatever.
