I've also heard reports that Celtic are interested in Meghni, as i am also a Celtic Supporter i would welcome him. I think he may beable to make an impact in Scotland. I know he wasn't great for Lazio but the SPL is a much lower standard of football.

Lazio Keen On Palermo Star Fabio Simplicio - Report
The Aquile are trying to find a way of landing Simplicio as the midfielder's Palermo future looks in doubt... Lazio have laid their eyes on Fabio Simplicio of Palermo following the arrival of Javier Pastore from Huracan, according to Il Corriere Dello Sport.
Reports suggest the 29-year-old Brazilian has been having trouble negotiating a new deal at the Renzo Barbera, fuelling speculation of an exit. It is said the midfielder is making high demands over a new contract and Palermo seem reluctant to fulfil them. That coupled with Pastore's arrival could lead to an exit.
The Bianconcelesti have now laid eyes on Simplicio, and his agent is expected in Rome to launch talks over a move there. Lazio chief Claudio Lotito likes the player, and new coach Davide Ballardini, who was at Palermo last term, wants his former star at the Olimpico.
Simplicio's deal expires in 2010, but voices claim Lazio can buy him for around €4 million. Talks over a proposed move are set to evolve next week. On Monday, Palermo sporting director Walter Sabatini claimed he was disappointed with the Brazilian for wanting more than what the club offered him.
I think that he is a good buy BUT if I need to choose between him and Banega I would take Banega becoz of his youth(Simplicio is 29) and he will probably link well with his former ARG U-21 team mate -Zarate!

I read some newspaper said we just trying to loan him, just loan. Yes we cant afford for Banega, but loan + permanent contract like Zarate could be good. Its possible

I agree Simplicio has yet to wow me to be honest, though I think I only watched Palermo 4 or 5 times last season maybe I missed his best performances. Id like one of Nedved or Veron probably best not to have both, our midfield would look very old all of a sudden and it would only be a short term solution for a long term problem.

We dont need both of them to play reguraly all the time ,but its good to have nedved passion in the team , and his inspiration , and can always be at high lvl for a half time....and veron has gr8 pass and vision...so he will be usefull in the team also...Anyone has any news about Matuzalem ? have we signed him ? or not ?

Newcastle United's Fabricio Coloccini Unsure Where His Future Lies – Agent The Argentina international defender's representative is seeking talks with the Magpies to decide whether he can search for new employers this summer... 27 Jun 2009 11:08:23 The agent of Newcastle United's Fabricio Coloccini has revealed that the 27-year-old is not entirely certain whether or not he will be plying his trade at St. James' Park next season.
It was thought that the 6ft centre-back, who cost the Magpies €12 million (£10.3m) when they signed him from Deportivo last summer, would be sold during the close-season following the club's relegation from the Premier League.
However, the 32-time capped Argentina international's representative, Marcelo Lombilla, says he has had no contact with the Toon since the end of the 2008-09 campaign.
"For weeks now, I only hear silence from Newcastle," Lombilla is quoted as saying by British tabloid The Daily Mail.
"After the relegation, the directors seemed to decide to sell Fabricio.
"But I have heard no more details. Now, without more information, the chances to sell him look negative."
It is claimed that Primera Division duo Sevilla and Real Zaragoza, as well as Serie A pair Lazio and Fiorentina, are interested in the former Boca Juniors star, but may not be able to meet Newcastle's asking price, which is likely to be the price they paid for him.

Simplicio has has flashes of brilliance but not consistent. Veron or Nedved would bring great value even off the bench so you can't lose with signing one or both of them.

Zamp sets Simplicio price
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini will sell Fabio Simplicio to Lazio as long as they give him Goran Pandev in return.
Simplicio is attracting a lot of interest after a brilliant season in Rosanero and Zamparini wants to get as much for him as possible.
“I am dealing with two German teams and Fenerbahce. I have told the Turks it will take £8m, but if Lazio President Claudio Lotito were to come and sit at the table we could close a deal for £5m or £7m,” Zamparini said.
“I would like to bring Pandev to Palermo, but I think that he prefers a team superior to ours. I believe that he is one of the best talents in Serie A, but he wants £2m a season and I can't guarantee him that amount.
“If Lazio want Simplicio or if they are interested in some other players, who could be included in a deal for Pandev, we can speak,” Zamparini concluded.

LAZIO, Zarate speaks out
In an interview with Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, Lazio's Argentine forward Mauro Zarate (22) said : "I am very happy in Italy and at Lazio. I want to keep on improving and become a real star for my club. I hope we will soon be able to compete for the Serie A title and become Champions League contenders. I would gladly remain at Lazio forever".
