Uh Oh

Uh Oh Indeed. Lotito way of doing business has turn around at him as a boomerang. Here are the first troubles or should I say "the truth" behind this mercato.
This mercato can only be called confusing. What really happened with Eguren, why Dias is back in Brasil and didn't trained yesterday, why Baretto won't debut against Atalanta???

In this post I'll try to give some answers. However put your seat belt on, this will be nasty ride.

We are all used having troubles over mercato. But this is a special one, we face relegation and we needed new players as soon as possible. Even though the transfers came latter rather then soon. Overall Lazio fans were happy in general, Lotito did something more then we are used to. So while fans are now concentrating on the game against Catania and try to put mercato behind themselves obviously they CAN'T. Why? Coz the lies are now floating on the surface and we can't just ignore them.

Well to get to know you to the problem you first got to know about Non EU players (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serie_A#Non-EU_players). Since 2008-2009 (serie A) every club has quota with 3 non-eu players so does Laizo. Those places were full until Pandev left for Inter and leave one space empty. Now all problems arose because of that one free NON-EU spot. So how it all started? I'll try to go with one player at the time so we all understand the situation behind each one of them.

Sebastian Eguren Ledesma

Well I believe that there is no one single Lazio fan that wants to know what really happened with this guy. Eguren deal should be called controversial and nothing more.
Its true that Lazio and Villarreal signed a contract. 500 000 for loan and then payment of 1 500 000. As we all know only way this contract to became valid is if player medical test turn out positive. Lazio stated in the media that Eguren failed the medical (coz of high blood pressure) and thus will be returned to Villarreal but even more important, contract will be void. Today reports clam that Villarreal doctors have done test on Eguren, those test turn out fine and it will be sent to Lazio. I also read that he holds Swedish passport and thus will register as EU player. Well I doubt that! Felice Pulici  had interview on Radio Sei (show is called "Lazio di sera") here is what he said about this matter : If the agreement were to be considered valid, it would be to risk the Brazilian Andre Dias. Why is that I wonder? Maybe Italian Federation (or whatever institution) didn't accept Eguren as EU player. Lotito knew that so he manipulate with Eguren Medical result. Again WHY? Because few transfers depend on that one NON-EU spot, Ederson (this is why we don't sign him), Dias (clearly non-eu), Eguren, Rever...
Case Closed.

Andre Dias

Well we already make it clear why he didn't train yesterday and why he is right now in Brasil. Consider him as an EXTRA. Funny enough he's situation depends also on Golasa.

Eyal Golasa

The most problematic transfer this mercato. I will divide his issues in two matters; on-the-field and off-the-field.

On-the-field
Everyone remembered Macheda and how Man Utd stole him from us. Well Lotito at least learn something from it. He found a young and talented player in Golasa and literally do the same. Even-though Golasa played in the first team of Macabi-Haifa he was an amateur and thus don't have professional contract. So he is talented, he is free but he could also be a NON-EU. Yeah you heard me well. He should have an Belgian passport but there is still dilemma if he has one as Marc said earlier today.
HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM!!!
Maccabi Haifa promises battle and does not send the transfer to Lazio. Meanwhile, the Federation of Israeli attacks: "We monitor the situation, but at the time from Maccabi will not be released any transfer". Israeli F has 30 days to respond even though they don't respond Italian can still grant a temporary transfer for the club who signed him.
But again the situation is very messy coz Dias has already fill the spot, or does he?

Off-the-field

Well the fact that he is Jew and this is Lazio is enough reason to full the media covers. But why all the unnecessary tension. As someone said he is Lazio player and if he play for the club and respect the colors he will be even admired. He would be more the welcomed.
Another thing that could bother his transfer is Israeli military service but he stated on this that he will do so if Belgium ask for it. If he does that he'll never play for Israel NT.
His mom on this says: "big deal, he won't play for Israel" but his father doesn't take this alright lunching insults in the media towards his son: I am ashamed of him. I’m mad at him and his brother Roi who planned all this.

Bloody Spanish soap opera.

Gonzalo Baretto
DEBUT POSTPONED! I don't know anyone that didn't count the days till his birthday. Hooray he is finally 18 . Surprise, surprise there is lack of transfer.
Laialita reports: In addition, the site of the League has confirmed that his move is a temporary and not definitive. Barreto was acquired on loan from the Danubio, with a blackmail already fixed in favor of Lazio.

Wtf

*Another interesting curiosity. Hitzlsperger has signed a contract for six months, renewable, by the will of the player for two years from July 2010. So if he play well and get offer from, lets say Juventus, he could leave us. Because unless he renew in July he will be as free as a bird.

Conclusion

Nothing new. Lotito is controversial again. This whole mercato is very suspicious and confusing. As Felice Pulici said today: except surprises folks. Nothing is definite!

I'm still waiting to see what happens here and whether this is all just a tempest in a teapot. But I'll say this, if all of this stays the same we've reached new heights of absurdity. Wtf did this guy do during the market? Ederson says he was dying to come and the deal couldn't be reached and the ones he managed to reach are all collapsing. What an absolute joke!

This has to be one of the most bizarre markets for a club in all of football history.   If Lotito would get things done ahead of time and plan this shit instead of everything at zero hour there would be less mess.

Just when you think the management of this club can't get anyworse, somehow it does. Not so much that we will not get the players, but that Lotito has not given us a platform for the club to build on in the summer. Hitzelberger would have added to that platform, but now he will be off after he attains his world cup place. Latius is right he is hands down the worst president in Serie A, probably of all the major leagues in Europe. So now, come the summer we will have to try again to revamp the whole squad, if we are still in Serie A that is, and we just know he won't ever do it. Just a vicious cycle.

Lotito Lotito vattene vattene vafanculo.

That's what it's all about peeps.

Honestly? In the summer? For me, it's a case of 10 players in, 15 players out. It's as ludicrous as it is ridiculous as it is necessary.

All this shit has something to to with the non european player rule.  I'm not sure the max you can have on a team and the wikipedia link was kind of confusing so if someone could explain that would be great.  What a waste of a non european spot makinwa is.  Such a piece of shit! Go back to africa.

Jofo,

Are you sure every team is allotted 3 non EU spots?  I'm 99% certain just like in Football Manager you are only allowed 1 non EU.  This is why we struggled to get Carrizo two seasons ago b/c our Non EU spot was already filled by Muslera, yet it seemed that J.P had a EU passport.

Also Pandev is from Macedonia, thus I believe he doesn't count against the NON-EU spot.

Up until now we had a non EU spot open b/c J.P is on loan @ Zaragoza.  This was why we could only get Ederson on loan for now until we offload Carrizo again.
